maple sugaring

Ji had a good day at daycare yesterday, but one pee accident.  Friday he was a RAPSCALLION at daycare.  Put sand on his head, POOPED in his pants, threw toys on the floor and wouldn't pick them up, etc etc.  We had MANY conversations about good behaviour and cooperating over the weekend, so he's doing better.  But he is pretty naughty - even Dad yelled at him this weekend because he went into the mud (after being told NOT to about 5 times) and then kicked his muddy boots all over the car. 

Had a fun weekend.  On Sat I took Ji to the park in the morning, and at lunch Quinlan came over.  After his awful Friday I just tried to spend alot of time with him.  Think the rotten behaviour is also partially because I've been so busy.  So we had a picnic outside with Q, and the two of them dug up the garden for, like, 2 hours.  At 4 Ji finally had a nap, and Q went home.

On Sunday we had a great adventure out to the maple sugar bush.  Ji loved it.  I drove all the way (like 50 min) to the 'bush, and then we walked out to see them cooking the syrup.  Ji loved tasting the syrup.  He also loved being 'in da countryside'.  He crawled through various heaps of sticks and collected moss, bull rushes, rocks, buds, etc.  He was pretty good walking, even climbed up this huge hill, and then sat in the middle of the path saying 'I take a break Mama'.  [Toronto-30-March-2004]
