this just in

The time travel machine dropped by today, picked up Seung Yi in her adorable new smocked dress (thanks Gramma!) and tossed her in a bushel basket filled with cabbages and her six-and-a-half month old brother. Cool!

When Seung Yi got back home, she munched on some extra leaves to give toothy a workout.

In other news, it's been pretty dang quiet here this weekend. Phet and Ji were gone, and my Hindi classes were cancelled, so John and Iaimon had the weekend off. Speaking of my Hindi classes, woe is me. I've gone for, what, almost two months now and I still can't say stuff to people on the street or even COUNT. The teacher drives me bananas. He should just administrate the centre because that must be where his forte lies. So far we have been "taught" at least 8 different verb tenses, but I still don't know how to say more than "Hello!" and "How are you?" Actually, I can also say "Stop talking nonsense!" and "Go die!" but those haven't helped me much with the vegetable man or the little kids at the park. I'm hoping to find a different teacher when I get back from Canada, and get the other students to join me in running away from our current centre (which shall remain nameless!).

While the men are away we've been playing all day long and going for long walks in the late afternoon when it's not so sunny. It's gorgeous weather here; still cool at night, but up to 30' in the sun in the middle of the day. No need for fans yet at our house. Finally, having a chilly place is paying off. Yesterday we went for a walk and within the first 3 minutes of our departure, a bird crapped a dark red crap on my hand. Eww! Also yesterday I killed 4 blood-stuffed mosquitos and saw a thick-tailed rat (not in the house). Icky! Why does all the gross stuff happen when Phet's away? (See, for reference, side bar noting Seung Yi's SIX POOPS today, and also note that the last time Phet was out of town Ji puked all over the bed one inch away from me, and lastly note that the second last time he was out of town I got my cancer diagnosed. Oh wait. I guess that the rat, the crap, and the puke aren't really that bad. Never mind!)
