dear gu pa
Hi Ee Mei! Hi Ee Fun! Hi Ee Fung! Hi Tai Ma!
Ji Hong told me it would be so funny if I called you that. He is always full of jokes. He is also teaching me how to jump on the bed. He says that when I go to see you I have to know how to jump on the bed so that you all can watch me and laugh. I am so excited about visiting you in Toronto. It will be so much fun!
Did you know I am starting to eat now? Yes, it is true! Mum has been feeding me rice cereal, bananas, and some yogurt. Ji Hong says he used to eat only home-made rice porridge that Mum would make, but I don't mind the powdered box cereal and so far my Mum is really lazy and just feeds me that. I bet if you were here you would make me proper food! Every day now I eat three small bowls of cereal. Yum!
Mum goes to school almost every day for a few hours and she leaves me with my nice nanny, Iaimon. Iaimon is from India but she looks like she is from Laos. She sings lots of songs to me, plays with me, and she is very kind. I like her alot now. At first I cried alot when Mum left, mainly because I wanted her milk. But now I am used to Iaimon and I have one bottle of formula every day. When Ji was little Mum used to pump her milk for him when she went to work, but let me tell you once more: she sure is lazy now! Maybe it's also because I'm six months old as of three days ago, so I'm a pretty big girl. She had to go back to work when Ji Hong was only two months old. That's really a baby you know!
You would be very impressed with my rolling now. I roll over all the time. I can also almost sit up, although my stomach is kind of extra fat so it is hard to keep the muscles upright. I can grab things and I like pulling Ji's hair. I like chewing on all my toys. I love the doll Uncle Pheuy gave me, and sometimes when I'm sleepy I chew on my soother. I also like sitting in my stroller and going for walks around our neighbourhood.
Here is a picture of me wearing a beautiful pink tank top from Auntie Jenny (she gives such nice gifts!). It is actually not warm enough to wear this kind of shirt, but Mum put it on me just to take a picture and then she put a nice warm suit over top.
You might also notice that my hair is very light. And I still don't have any eyebrows. Pa is thinking of taking me to Laos and getting some eyebrows tattooed onto me. What do you think? Should I do it? One more thing you might notice is that I take after my Mum's side in one very important way (other than the light hair). This is definitely not something I inherited from the Sayo side:
I think that right now my wrists are about as fat as Nga Gu's waist. Hee hee hee! I could wear her pants on my arm! Well, at least you know that although my Mum is lazy I am getting enough food, right?
Big kisses and hugs and love to you all. We miss you so much! Please give Tai Ma a hug for me. I can't wait to see her again. Because as we all know, it is Tai Ma who I look like. Especially my chin! (Of course, my chin usually has more drool on it!). Love you all!
XXXOOO SY
