2 odd internet things

I pay for this site to be hosted by a company. In return for my small amount of money, they make sure that the site is accessible to visitors, and they also provide me with fascinating statistics about the use of the site by guests. I can't find out who you are, you fabulous audience members, not exactly, but I can find out how many times the pages are checked. I can find out whether anyone links to my site (thanks Ash!), and I can also find out which searches brought my site up on Google. This is really the best part of the statistics package. I don't look at the stats often since this site is accessed by such an exclusive and intimate audience, but today I checked things out and discovered that fixed address had come up not once but twice for people searching Google for "praline bacon". Yes! Elizabeth's Restaurant in New Orleans should pay me for bringing this culinary delight to the attention of people around the world. It's unfortunate that I can't find out who is searching for praline bacon, cause maybe then we could form a fan club. And then, after a few years of chowing down we could morph into a 12-step support program to help folks recover from their terrible praline bacon addictions. You can be a fan club member, too. Just grab some bacon, cook it lightly, then place it in a pan and cover each rasher with crushed pecans and brown sugar. Bake it till it's crispy and eat till you fall out of your chair!

The other odd thing was that I checked out a site that was listed as linking to mine and I couldn't find the link, but I did find out that one of the people chatting on the site (it's a perfectly nice site for some band) is using the picture of Ji throwing the horns as their member image! Someone else thinks Ji rocks, too. Right on. We here at fixed address throw the horns out to you, annonymous image borrower. Let your inner quarter-Chinese, quarter-Lao, quarter Polish/Ukrainian, quarter Irish/French four year old head bang to his heart's content. Peace. [Ji Hong-8-December-2005]
