the park in golf links
I love the fact that the community association of Golf Links has built a new play area in the lovely park across from the community centre. We spend almost every evening there, hanging out with the kids, and usually eating ice cream from the vendor who drives by every day at 6 pm. On a side note, Seung Yi can now recognize an ice cream cart in a split second. Yesterday we were driving (quickly) past Lodhi Garden and she caught sight of one out of the corner of her eye and suddenly stood up on my legs and screamed in my ear "iiiiiiiccccce! iiiiiiiiiiicccccce!". But yes, the park is great.
However.
Even in a "posh enclave" like Golf Links, there isn't a, um, high standard of park equipment. Allow me to demonstrate.
Here, for examle, is the four-week-old seat on the turney aroundy thingy that Seung Yi loves:

And here, Ji Hong demonstrates how to use the swing that the actual big metal swing has fallen off of:

My favourite, though, are the death swings, which feature lovely bolts underneath them:

And finally? The slide of doom. Witness Ji Hong unwittingly climbing up to the top, only to discover that there is a three foot gap and no cross-stair or platform at the summit:

These kids are gonna be tough, mark my words.
