sick AGAIN

I'm thinking Seung Yi needs to go to rehab. Some place where other people will wipe the vomit up off the floor and stay awake all night to attend to her needs. Shurely Lindsay Lohan needs a roommate?

Last week after SY got the evil fever, she had a cough. I took her back to Doctor Gupta since Ji had just gotten antibiotics for his horrible cough and sore throat, but the doctor said it was just a dry cough and not to worry. Two days later I thought maybe the illness SY had had was measels so we called the doctor again, but she said nope, it was just a virus. I was still worried about that cough, but it was only yesterday that we actually got to the clinic again. After a DEEELIGHTFUL morning spent sitting at the Becoming An Indian Resident office with both kids in tow, and with all of our blood sugar levels crashing, we went to see the doctor again. She peered down Seung Yi's throat and said, yes, it was not looking good, and that she'd give us antibiotics for Seung Yi too. We also got: cough syrup, de-stuffer, broncho-dilator syrup, gravol, and nose drops. So, um, I think my "mother's intuition" that the baby hadn't yet gotten better was - dare I say - CORRECT.

Poor old Princess. She also has a bruise on her cheek from crashing into the coffee table. So that plus her perpetually snotty nose, gummy eyes, and drooly chin and neck really make her just a bundle of adorableness ready for viewing by her family. NOT. I'm just hoping that the medicine will plow through her illness and leave her with clear sinus passages by tomorrow at 2 am when we board our flight to Toronto.

Otherwise, things are well here. The grade 8 graduation was on Monday and Ji had a test run wearing his new tux and sterling silver cufflinks. And sandals. Wednesday was my last day at school and was really nice; well-organized good bye assembly followed by a huge buffet. I got Phet to play hooky and go out to eat and shop with me. Fun! On Thursday I went to the Lufthansa office to make sure our bassinette seats are booked, and also picked up the gorgeous silk dresses I've had made for Jodi and I for our gig as bridesmaids at Em and Adam's wedding, and also picked up the suit Mum had made and a wee white dress for SY. SY's dress is low on rufflage, so I think we are going to have a competition to find the fluffiest, frilliest, most absurdly over the top lacy underpants for her. Plus shoes with spangles.

A few photos for youse today as we enter the final lap of preparations for our departure. Likely to be a two week lag in new posts until Phet brings old Maccy to Canada, but in the meantime, love to all. Don't forget to come and see us on Canada Day!
