busy times

A tired Saturday night here in Delhi. Seung Yi's conked out in bed and Ji and I are hanging out in the living room listening to Phet strum and sing some tunes. Ji is designing dresses (more on that tomorrow, with some pics) and I'm puttering around on the computer. We had a busy week racing here and there. I've picked up part time work at the international school here (which will remain nameless in the interest of internet prudency -- not prudery, prudency, like being prudent and smart and not getting fired and all that) and it is going super well. I am loving it. I've got a grade 6 health class, which tons of fun. It's a nice mix of general info, communications skills, and be-a-better-person kind of stuff. I'm also starting to help out with a class that publishes a monthly magazine. The admin are superfantastic and the other teachers I've met are great. So: GOOD!

It's busy, though, cause I have to make sure SY is fed properly and ok for Iaimon. Hopefully in the next few weeks SY'll start taking food from Iaimon, but right now it's all strictly me-only.

In other news, Ji is doing ok at his school, "Your Kids 'R' Our Kids". He tells me he's learning how to brainwash the kids and get them to do what he wants them to do. He's also started going to a regular pick up soccer game at the park near here. There's a group of kids and parents (foreigners mostly) who meet up, and so far it's been great for Ji to get out and run around and work up a sweat. Here's a picture of Ji dressed up for "winter animal week" at his school. Phet, the SUPERPA, made the costume:

We heard this week from the international school we want to enroll Ji at (the one where I'm now working) that things are looking pretty good for him getting in there in August. So just a few more months of being a brainwashing penguin and then he'll be ready to take over a new bunch of suckers.

Seung Yi is doing great. She got over her cold and is fat and happy as usual. She likes to touch things and does so with great concentration and concern. When she's settling down to sleep at night she likes to play with the blankie with her fingers. She also loves playing ATTACK BABY, a game in which she leans back in our arms and then launches herself forward towards our face or neck and gloms on with a big suck and woggle of her head. It's pretty hilarious. She continues to be fascinated by her brother and has also been welcomed into the Sayo Universe of Technology:

Ji also sucked her into his weekend-long Superman marathon:

Coming up tomorrow for us: my fourth Hindi class (can read already! but don't know any words! oh well!), grocery shopping (the fridge is utterly bare), and maybe some mattress purchasing. Hope all is well with everyone out there.
