the shermans RULE!
And this was written post-party-awards, so gorgeous Aunt Joan Sherman wasn't just buttering us up in hopes of winning the big prize when she wrote (in purple ink, of course):
"Dear Thaba, Phet and Ji: That was a fabulous party you had on Sat. night. We just enjoyed it immensely. I'm so glad we made the effort to return for the party. It's not often we get to see Fred and Jo Anne from California...Your food was so delicious. The ribs - the splake - the salmon - plus, plus the rest - were all cooked to perfection. The desserts were so succulent. Everything was fantastic, Thaba and Phet.
It was a pleasure to see your family again, Phet. They invited me to play poker. My Mom was the gambler in our family. She was interested in Bingo and horse races. Her winnings paid for my figure skating. So I was sure happy when she participated - as I could skate more.
I was pleased to see that Keith had the energy for the party and enjoyed it so much. In the last 2 weeks he's improved so much with energy and interest.
We are on our way to Lana's. We hope to be away a couple of weeks. It was such a joy to visit with you - "2 consecutive week-ends" - amazing. Your home and location are so beautiful. What a property! You made a great choice there. We thank you for including us at your party. We had a super time. We'd love to have you come to Woodstock and visit us - if you could ever work it in. We'll keep in touch. Sincerely, Joan & Keith"
Now, is that not the nicest thank you letter you've ever read? Dang, she's good! No wonder they won the HARDEST PARTIERS award. They double-dog deserved it. [Countryside-21-September-2005]
