going, going, gone

Again: apologies for the few-and-far-between posts. Things have been a little busy around here lately! First of all, a big round of super congratulations to my awesome husband who has accepted an excellent new job. Phet will be the new Senior Programme Officer for the PAN Asia office of the International Development Research Centre (aka IDRC). IDRC is a Canadian organization that focuses on development research - surprise, suprise - around the globe. The extra-exciting thing about the new job is that Phet will be based in New Delhi. So we are headed to India! Expect a new button on the sidebar (---->) soon.

The plans at the moment are as follows: first, Ji will head back to Canada with his Auntie Emma who is - yippee! - currently in Bangkok. We've been working diligently on having him excercize his little fingers so that he is ready to wrap his Gramma, Grampa, Aunties, Great Gramma, and Great Grampa around them with ease. Then Phet and I will finish up our work here in Bangkok, Phet will go to Pakse for a couple of weeks to see his family while I mark exams, and then we'll fly home to Toronto together at the end of July. Phet will be working online until after the baby is born and then he'll move to Delhi at the end of October. Finally, me, Ji and Number Two will join Phet after christmas. Phew!

We're really excited about all the new plots that are a-hatching, but it's made things a little nutty around here. Since Ji will likely be heading off tomorrow night, thus leaving me desperately sad and lonely ha ha ha, I will have heaps of time on my hands to post to my heart's content. In the meantime, CHEERS to Phet for his new job, and HUZZAH to Emma for making the trek to Bangkok! [Bangkok-17-June-2006]
